VCNB Will Invest $2.6 Million In New Facility For Vinton County
After over a year of planning and preparation, VCNB will break ground this spring on a historic investment in McArthur. The bank will build a two-story 7,000 square foot facility, valued at $2.6 million, in the heart of our hometown. The new bank will be at the old McClure's Restaurant location on Main Street, less than a block from the existing one. This facility will house the retail bank employees and provide a pleasant space for better serving modern customers.
VCNB President Mark Erslan said the building was actually designed with the customer in mind. For example, there will be a dedicated ATM/Express Drop lane along with three drive-thru lanes. The additional lane is expected to help make drive-thru banking quicker and more efficient for the customer.
From a staffing perspective this is a game changer as all teller staff will be housed under one roof instead of the existing situation where a portion of our tellers are in the bank lobby while others are in the Depot. "Being able to serve drive-thru and lobby customers from the same area is going to provide efficiencies for the bank and will also provide time savings for customers during peak times," Erslan said.
Another feature he is enthusiastic to offer customers is greater privacy in a floor plan that still feels open and airy. "The new plan includes ample enclosed office space on both floors which allows our customers to share personal financial information in a private setting when opening accounts or applying for loans," he explained.
Finally, there will be dedicated space for youths and adults. Who doesn't remember accompanying their parents to the bank? Now youngsters will have a place of their own at a kid's station. For adults, there will be a digital learning center for those who wish to learn more about digital banking options either on their own or with aid from a banker.
A central lobby will provide space for tellers to serve customers and will be surrounded by enclosed offices for privacy. On the second floor, there will be a conference room overlooking McArthur's Main Street, additional offices and a space for employees to enjoy at breaktime.
This project is being managed by Randy Evans Construction of Jackson using designs created by P.W. Campbell of Pittsburgh, P.A. This company specializes in banking facilities and has designed other facilities for VCNB. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
Once the new building is complete, the current bank building will continue to house offices for bank employees who work in several departments including HR, Accounting, Marketing, IT Security and Operations. In total, VCNB provides over fifty jobs in McArthur.
Erslan is already counting the days until customers can conduct business at this new address. "We are excited to begin construction and to start this next chapter in the bank's story here in our hometown!"
