Sue Ross Named Grove City Area Chamber Ambassador of the Year

Congratulations to Senior Business Banker Sue Ross for the recognition she recently received from the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce. Sue was named Ambassador of the Year and honored at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting.

The Chamber’s Ambassador Program enlists qualified Chamber members to be a liaison from the Chamber to the membership and the entire community. Ambassadors visit current members, listen to what’s happening in their business and share information about Chamber opportunities that might help them. While ambassadors have official visits with business members, the Chamber praised her for continuing her ambassador work even when “off the clock.”

“She makes it a point to be an ambassador wherever she goes and with whoever she is talking to,” said Chamber Executive Director Shawn Conrad.

Sue has been a lender working in Grove City since 1989 and has been involved in the Chamber for most of that time.  She became an ambassador because she liked the idea of meeting new people, making friends and helping connect them with services and events that might help them.

In fact, those who know Sue well understand that helping people and making connections is important to her. “I pride myself on being resourceful and on knowing the community well. Sometimes I can connect two companies that need each other’s services or I can tell them about a Chamber benefit that will help them. I love meeting people and helping them to better their business for themselves, their employees and their families. That’s just what I do,” she said.

All the same, Sue was surprised to learn that others had noticed her efforts. “I was shocked when I got the call. Actually, I was shocked and flattered because I see how much the other ambassadors do and never dreamed I would be considered for this honor.”

Helping people is clearly a lifelong passion.  “I love being involved in the community and I consider myself an ambassador for the Chamber and the Bank everywhere I go. Being active gives me a chance to meet people and gather resources and connections that might be useful for someone someday.”

Great job, Sue, and congratulations on this important honor!
